These chicks come from my show line Ameraucanas. This show season, our black bantam Ameraucanas again had a great year! At the Pacific Poultry Breeders Assoc. show in Lodi in January 2026, our black hen Queenie won Junior Champion AOCCL against the largest AOCCL Junior class I’ve seen since we started showing—58 birds. We were super excited and so proud of her! We also were lucky enough to take both Junior Champion AOCCL with our black pullet and Junior Reserve Champion AOCCL with our main rooster Angus at the Greater California Society of Poultry Fanciers show in Fresno in February 2026.
I’m excited to continue working on this breed and variety, there is nothing prettier than the green sheen that reflects in the natural sunlight! They are a work in progress to improve their size and type, as well as improve their beard/muffs as I still have some that appear to hatch heterozygous for these genes (we want FLUFFY faces!!). They have nice tight pea combs and fantastic temperaments and would provide you with a good starter flock or beautiful blue egg layers! Most of these will be available as cull chicks from my show/breeding line.
