Belgian Watermaals - Quail/Blue Quail/Splash Quail

$30.00
Sold Out

Belgian Watermaals are the lesser-known cousins of the Belgian d’Uccles and Belgian d’Anvers. These adorable little birds are even smaller in frame than the d’Anvers, however they are not at all small in the personality department! Watermaals have cute little tassels on their heads along with the beards and muffs, making them just a little bit more extra than their non-tassled cousins. :) These birds are also unique because of their trifed (three spikes instead of one) rose comb.

Chicks from this pen will be quail, blue quail, or splash quail. These Watermaals are a small breeding group of show quality birds that come from a combination of Green Fire Farms and a couple of local to California Watermaal breeders that have worked on this breed for many years with proven stock and success in the show arena. Last year, I acquired the birds to start my own line and am working to assist the Watermaal Club of America with their efforts to get blue quail an accepted color/variety for the Standard of Perfection for Watermaals. Currently quail is the only accepted variety that can move on to win Best in Class or Best in Show from the varieties I have available this Spring.

I will mainly be selling chicks that do not fit my breeding plans, but if I have excess hatching eggs I will be willing to sell a few if there is desire. Please contact me for more information and potential for the waiting list for eggs.

Prices are for 6 eggs, and do NOT include shipping. I cannot guarantee the success of the eggs once they leave my home and ship to you. I do my VERY best to ship them in the most successful way possible to ensure the air cells remain intact, but shipping is very VERY hard on fertile eggs. If you are not comfortable with this risk, please do not purchase.
