Blue/Splash Bantam Ameraucanas (limited availability in 2025)
My blue and splash bantam Ameraucanas are a work in progress and while they meet the current Standard of Perfection to show, they still need significant improvement in size and type and lacing consistency in the blue feathering and leakage in the splash males. They also appear to be heterozygous for the beard/muffs and need work on this as well. I will be working on them slowly due to limited space and time, so when I have availability, they will come with SOP flaws. I cannot guarantee you will get blue or splash, as I must, due to space, keep them in the same pen. So, if you buy hatching eggs, they will have a 50/50 chance of blue or splash. My breeding pen will have both blue and splash boys and girls.
My first generation of blues that are specifically bred by me from stock I have acquired has done well and shown good signs of improvement and I am pleased with their genetics thus far. Our blue hen was awarded Junior Reserve AOCCL Champion in December 2024, and one of my cockerels was awarded best in variety in the same show.
